Why You Need A Self-Care Routine

I want to make one thing really clear – self-care is NOT selfish. In fact, it’s very much needed and should be added to your daily or weekly routine. It’s a core component of being present and showing up as the best, happiest version of yourself. Self-care should start to become a priority because in order for you to be the best version of yourself, you NEED to take care of yourself. 

Self-care doesn’t have to be a bubble bath followed by a long routine. It doesn’t have to be expensive. It doesn’t have to take hours. It can and should look different for everyone. It really depends on what recharges YOUR batteries. It could be a walk outdoors by yourself listening to a podcast, an Audible, or a guided meditation. It could be taking 30 minutes out of your busy day to work on your business. It could be enrolling in a pottery, drawing, or photography class to learn or improve a skill. It could be simply laying in bed in peace and quiet for 15 extra minutes. 

With your busy schedule and everything on your plate, it can be easy to prioritize everyone and everything above yourself. The problem is, YOU don’t have any time to rest and reset. Creating a habit to make time for yourself will make you a better mom, wife, friend, person, etc. that you can be. Giving yourself some much-needed time allows you to be more present, focused, less stressed, and more energized. 

Whatever it looks like to you, you need to prioritize time to yourself at least every week – guilt-free. You take the time to make everyone else happy, so make sure you make the time to make yourself happy.
